Our Communications & PR team has grown to become one of the main suppliers of creative staff to the media industry. We recruit a wide range of candidates across these sectors, from trainee to director level and for both agency and in-house roles.
Our clients are diverse, incorporating agencies, publishing houses, web organisations, charities, blue chips, events firms and governmental departments, offering candidates the possibility of having a wide range of options.
Rupert Wallis - Director
With ten years' experience at the company, is Director at Media Contacts, managing the team as well as being a hands-on recruiter. Went from gardening to recruitment consultancy, being one of a rare breed of Londoners to be accredited by the Royal Horticultural Society. Rules the staff tuck shop with an iron fist.
Julia Walton - Senior Consultant
After a varied career involving fmcg executive search, IT contract recruitment and several years as a journalist, Julia went around the world for more than a year, chasing kangaroos and editing news for a Thai newspaper, and has come back to combine her previous lives into recruiting healthcare communications staff. Outside work, if she's not in the gym or in the pub, she's likely to be cooking or have her head in a book.
Lorna Howe - Consultant
After graduating from Durham University with a degree in French and European Studies, Lorna left her hometown in rural Scotland to move to the city lights of London. Straight out of university she spent six months trying to choose a career/going on holiday, before deciding on recruitment. Having always been interested in PR and media, recruitment into the PR industry seemed like the natural choice. Outside of work she can be found in the pub below her flat, or wandering around London, going into shops she can’t afford.
Paul Tester - Consultant
After serving with the Royal Air Force for six years, Paul moved into recruitment after a brief stint in retail management. A committed football fan - although somewhat less committed on the pitch - he enthuses about live comedy, sunny beer gardens and his semi-aquatic pet turtles. Working in the public relations sector marks a return to familiar territory after studying the subject as an undergraduate.
Michelle Pearce - Consultant
After starting her career in the travel industry selling luxury cruises (and experiencing a few for herself... perks of the job!) Michelle made the transition to sales including media and property. Yes, she was an estate agent before moving into recruitment, transferring her acquired skills into recruiting healthcare communications staff.
James Johnson - Consultant
After graduating from Newcastle University with a degree in History, James decided it was probably time to enter the world of full time employment. With ample relevant experience coming from previous jobs in both tyre and spice factories, the world of media recruitment seemed like the most sensible career choice. When not working he can be found playing rugby (badly) or in a local Ealing tavern putting the world to rights.
