Throughout all the hype of the dotcom bubble from self-styled Internet 'gurus', we maintained one simple premise: ninety percent of what rules applied to 'old' media also worked equally well for the 'new'. That's not to say that advances in technology haven't fundamentally altered the ways that media owners can communicate with existing readers and reach new ones. It's just that whatever the prospects for the future, the landlord, the bank and staff need paying, in the here and now.

With consultants drawn from new and traditional media as well as IT backgrounds, we have witnessed one of the most revolutionary periods of economic history. Through its early techie infancy, the excesses of venture capital fuelled youth, to the more mature and circumspect industry we see today.

The division also serves organisations that provide the platforms and tertiary services for new media companies: ISPs, software houses, technology developers, sales agencies and the like. Today we work with the survivors - those that had a sound business from the outset - and continue to employ the best staff.

Rupert Wallis - Director

With ten years' experience at the company, is Director at Media Contacts, managing the team as well as being a hands-on recruiter. Went from gardening to recruitment consultancy, being one of a rare breed of Londoners to be accredited by the Royal Horticultural Society. Rules the staff tuck shop with an iron fist.

Rob Garner - Consultant

After doing a degree in Business Studies (yes it is true, we normally have no idea what we’ll do in our career paths so we chose the broadest subject possible!), he decided to leave the very spectacular West Country to return to London to take up a role in media sales. Selling advertising space to recruitment consultants made him realise they were probably the loveliest people in the world so decided to gravitate towards this industry. Outside of work he can be found either down the gym or with a pint in hand (sometimes even both!).

John Duggan - Consultant

After 6 years' service in the Parachute Regiment, John started a sales career in Media. Following on from that, he has had 4 years' business sales experience and wanted to make his mark in recruitment, going back to his roots in Media Sales. To do this he has moved from the slow moving Welsh countryside into London where the fast paced life suits him to the ground. When not at work, he spends as much time as possible surfing or practising for gigs with his band in which he sings lead vocals and plays rhythm guitar.

John Fraser - Consultant

“Music to my ears”. After travelling around the world for a few years of DJing for the masses… John has reentered the world of recruitment, finding the right mix for his clients and candidates. His background is in IT and now he has moved into the Digital Media sector, mainly in Online Marketing, Media Planning and Account Management. When John is not in the office or doing the occasional set…. you’ll find him at a concert singing along to his favourite songs. Warning - don’t forget your ear plugs.

Tracy Wilson - Consultant

Having worked in some of London’s top casinos and on the cruise ships - including a world cruise on the QE2 - Tracy decided to join the land of the living and gave up working at night. Thrown in at the deep end to set up a Casino desk from scratch, she has since moved into the Media sector, recruiting for the Digital/Integrated Marketing industry. She can be found in her local (usually playing pool) or at the gym trying to better her 10K p.b. Tracy is a big fan of West Ham United, rugby and Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels.
