Encompassing the entire gambit of conference, event and exhibition and venue management, the specialist recruiters in this division appreciate the different qualities and skills required to succeed in each. But that's not to say that there isn't a degree of convergence between them or, for that matter, the other disciplines covered under the Media Contacts umbrella.

Moreover, the advent of the Web has brought about a unique set of challenges to organisers. Delegates now use events in an entirely different way than they once did. Brochure snatchers, aimlessly wandering the isles of exhibition halls and collecting free trinkets are a dying breed.

The Internet provides the preferred platform for research and gathering of market intelligence. Attendees are much more selective in the types of event they chose to visit. And facing pressures of increased time constraints, the effort required to secure their attendance to maximum benefit to your clients, is no easy task. Which is where high calibre staff come in.

Rupert Wallis - Director

With ten years' experience at the company, is Director at Media Contacts, managing the team as well as being a hands-on recruiter. Went from gardening to recruitment consultancy, being one of a rare breed of Londoners to be accredited by the Royal Horticultural Society. Rules the staff tuck shop with an iron fist.

Rob Garner - Consultant

After doing a degree in Business Studies (yes it is true, we normally have no idea what we’ll do in our career paths so we chose the broadest subject possible!), he decided to leave the very spectacular West Country to return to London to take up a role in media sales. Selling advertising space to recruitment consultants made him realise they were probably the loveliest people in the world so decided to gravitate towards this industry. Outside of work he can be found either down the gym or with a pint in hand (sometimes even both!).

John Duggan - Consultant

After 6 years' service in the Parachute Regiment, John started a sales career in Media. Following on from that, he has had 4 years' business sales experience and wanted to make his mark in recruitment, going back to his roots in Media Sales. To do this he has moved from the slow moving Welsh countryside into London where the fast paced life suits him to the ground. When not at work, he spends as much time as possible surfing or practising for gigs with his band in which he sings lead vocals and plays rhythm guitar.
