Hugh Joslin - Managing Director

25 years managing and directing recruitment companies. Now directing Media Contacts in its fourteenth year of trading. Does New Business, in-house training and strategy. Probably the only media recuiter with a music degree and a single figure golf handicap.

Rupert Wallis - Director

With over ten years' experience at the company, is Director at Media Contacts, managing the team as well as being a hands-on recruiter. Went from gardening to recruitment consultancy, being one of a rare breed of Londoners to be accredited by the Royal Horticultural Society. Currently serving as Interim Chair of the Marketing, Media and Creative sector group of the REC, the industry's leading trade association.

Julia Walton - Senior Consultant

After a varied career involving fmcg executive search, IT contract recruitment and several years as a journalist, Julia went around the world for more than a year, chasing kangaroos and editing news for a Thai newspaper, and has come back to combine her previous lives into recruiting healthcare communications staff. Outside work, if she's not in the gym or in the pub, she's likely to be cooking or have her head in a book.

Lauren Meltzer - Consultant

After graduating from a degree in psychology, Lauren decided to bring the skills she had already acquired to a career in recruitment. After gaining valuable experience in recruiting contract staff into the public sector, she decided to move to an area which excites her more and now uses her skills to recruit marketing and editorial staff.

Paul Tester - Consultant

After serving with the Royal Air Force for six years, Paul moved into recruitment after a brief stint in retail management. A committed football fan - although somewhat less committed on the pitch - he enthuses about live comedy, sunny beer gardens and his semi-aquatic pet turtles. Working in the public relations sector marks a return to familiar territory after studying the subject as an undergraduate.

James Johnson - Consultant

After graduating from Newcastle University with a degree in History, impending bankruptcy convinced James it was probably time to enter the world of full time employment. With shed loads of relevant experience coming from previous jobs in tyre and spice factories, the world of Healthcare Comms recruitment seemed like a natural career choice. When not working he can be found playing rugby (badly) or in a Balham pub complaining about the Northern Line.

Sophia Benedictsen - Consultant

Over a decade ago, Sophia arrived in London from Denmark to study a BA in English Literature. Time flies when you’re having fun.... After graduation she embarked on a varied career including selling training courses, working for an online publisher and gambling website. After a few years in sales and marketing recruitment, Sophia decided to focus on the area within media that fascinates her the most, and has been working with digital agencies ever since.
