Hugh Joslin - Managing Director

25 years managing and directing recruitment companies. Now directing Media Contacts in its fourteenth year of trading. Does New Business, in-house training and strategy. Probably the only media recuiter with a music degree and a single figure golf handicap.

Rupert Wallis - Director

With ten years' experience at the company, is Director at Media Contacts, managing the team as well as being a hands-on recruiter. Went from gardening to recruitment consultancy, being one of a rare breed of Londoners to be accredited by the Royal Horticultural Society. Rules the staff tuck shop with an iron fist.

Gina Ali - Manager

Our most exotic consultant, having grown up in the Middle East and Pakistan before moving to the UK to study and work as a dedicated recruitment consultant with Healthcare Advertising, PR and Medical Education clients whilst undertaking management and training responsibilities. Like any true Eastern Princess, Gina sets herself high standards and has only been working with the very best since she joined in November 2000. She can be found in the finest bars, restaurants and clothes stores in town, often acting up as the dumb tourist and haggling for bargains as if she were at a Persian market.

Julia Walton - Senior Consultant

After a varied career involving fmcg executive search, IT contract recruitment and several years as a journalist, Julia went around the world for more than a year, chasing kangaroos and editing news for a Thai newspaper, and has come back to combine her previous lives into recruiting healthcare communications staff. Outside work, if she's not in the gym or in the pub, she's likely to be cooking or have her head in a book.

Rob Garner - Consultant

After doing a degree in Business Studies (yes it is true, we normally have no idea what we’ll do in our career paths so we chose the broadest subject possible!), he decided to leave the very spectacular West Country to return to London to take up a role in media sales. Selling advertising space to recruitment consultants made him realise they were probably the loveliest people in the world so decided to gravitate towards this industry. Outside of work he can be found either down the gym or with a pint in hand (sometimes even both!).

Hannah Young - Consultant

Having gained valuable recruitment experience in the gritty and competitive area of construction, Hannah has now returned to familiar territory and the world of media, bringing her skills to the editorial desk. She can be found across the karaoke bars of London singing a variety of soul classics.

Lauren Meltzer - Consultant

After graduating from a degree in psychology, Lauren decided to bring the skills she had already acquired to a career in recruitment. After gaining valuable experience in recruiting contract staff into the public sector, she decided to move to an area which excites her more and now uses her skills to recruit marketing and editorial staff.

John Fraser - Consultant

“Music to my ears”. After travelling around the world for a few years of DJing for the masses… John has reentered the world of recruitment, finding the right mix for his clients and candidates. His background is in IT and now he has moved into the Digital Media sector, mainly in Online Marketing, Media Planning and Account Management. When John is not in the office or doing the occasional set…. you’ll find him at a concert singing along to his favourite songs. Warning - don’t forget your ear plugs.

Lorna Howe - Consultant

After graduating from Durham University with a degree in French and European Studies, Lorna left her hometown in rural Scotland to move to the city lights of London. Straight out of university she spent six months trying to choose a career/going on holiday, before deciding on recruitment. Having always been interested in PR and media, recruitment into the PR industry seemed like the natural choice. Outside of work she can be found in the pub below her flat, or wandering around London, going into shops she can’t afford.

John Duggan - Consultant

After 6 years' service in the Parachute Regiment, John started a sales career in Media. Following on from that, he has had 4 years' business sales experience and wanted to make his mark in recruitment, going back to his roots in Media Sales. To do this he has moved from the slow moving Welsh countryside into London where the fast paced life suits him to the ground. When not at work, he spends as much time as possible surfing or practising for gigs with his band in which he sings lead vocals and plays rhythm guitar.

Tracy Wilson - Consultant

Having worked in some of London’s top casinos and on the cruise ships - including a world cruise on the QE2 - Tracy decided to join the land of the living and gave up working at night. Thrown in at the deep end to set up a Casino desk from scratch, she has since moved into the Media sector, recruiting for the Digital/Integrated Marketing industry. She can be found in her local (usually playing pool) or at the gym trying to better her 10K p.b. Tracy is a big fan of West Ham United, rugby and Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels.
