One of the world’s largest financial business news services is looking for a senior editor to work on exclusive, breaking news stories and features on bonds and loans.
Our client produces content for a vast subscription base of private equity companies, lawyers, banks and investors around the world. This company have invested heavily in the quality of their content and data and has built a high-quality service with a global reach.
This is an ideal role for a financial journalist/editor with a strong background in financial, corporate or business news who is looking to join a reputable information service with a global influence. The Editor’s Responsibilities include:
- Working with reporters and analysts to determine how to approach a story or report, what angles should be worked, what sourcing is required and whether the reporters/analysts should coordinate with others on the team.
- Editing reporter and analysts drafts and ensuring that there are no factual inaccuracies or logical flaws; that edited drafts are clean and writing is tightened up; ensuring there are no typographical or grammatical errors.
- Fact checking.
- Stopping any story from publication and informing either Managing Editors whenever there are legal and reputational risks involved in a story.
Key requirements include:
- A strong background in financial journalism and editing financial copy.
- Being based in Hong Kong, able to go into the office three days a week.
- Flawless English language and great communication skills.
- Experience covering corporate finance, distressed debt and/or restructuring would be an advantage.
