Our client, an international specialist financial news organisation, is looking for a finance lawyer ready to transition from a law firm to a highly specialized business information service which provides trading insights to the world’s leading banks and corporations. The role involves analyzing and reviewing the financial covenants of various loan agreements.

The ideal Senior Covenant Analyst will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, have experience in financial analysis, and possess excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing reports, reviewing loan agreements, and providing recommendations to an active user and subscriber-base.

Responsibilities for the Senior Covenant Analyst will include:

  • Analyzing new deals as they come in, reviewing dossiers to explain key provisions, spot anything out of the ordinary and flag any warnings.
  • Writing reports that summarize and analyze material terms in high-yield bond offering memos and credit agreements related to leveraged loans.
  • Discussing deals or trends with public and private subscribers, as a provider of expert market knowledge.
  • Interacting with the reporting team.


  • Will be a covenants lawyer with extensive experience of drafting, negotiating and reviewing leveraged finance documentation, including credit agreements/indentures.
  • Can review documents with a fast turnaround and have an eye for detail.
  • Have at least 4 – 5 years of Big Law experience in leveraged finance and deep understanding of the leveraged finance market and how covenants and financial definitions work in leveraged finance documents.

This company operates on a hybrid basis and has offices in New York City and Connecticut.
