If you’re interested in the increasingly intervening Department of Justice’s action on some of the major mergers and acquisitions in America, this is an excellent chance to write on it for a global audience of bankers, lawyers, and advisors around the world.

You’ll be responsible for breaking news inside the Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission, leveraging your network to get exclusive angles on the latest proceedings as well as developing a network of relevant executives, advisors, and lawyers.

We’re ideally looking for an experienced journalist with existing contacts and experience covering antitrust investigations although journalists with a strong track record and demonstrable interest in the space are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include:

  • Writing insights and analysis on antitrust and competition law cases going through Washington
  • Building a network of contacts through calls, meetings, and attending relevant business and governmental events
  • Reporting from court as well as breaking scoops on the latest proceedings ahead major competitors

Requirements include:

  • Significant experience as a business, financial, or legal journalist with a demonstrable interest in antitrust events
  • Relevant Washington contacts would be a significant advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

This person can be based in New York City or Washington DC.
