With twenty years’ experience at the company, Rupert is Managing Director of Media Contacts, responsible for the day to day management of the company as well as continuing to recruit for select assignments. Rupert went from gardening to recruitment consultancy, being one of a rare breed of Londoners to be accredited by the Royal Horticultural Society. He has previously served as Chair of the Marketing, Media and Creative sector group of the REC, the industry’s leading trade association.
After a varied career involving fmcg executive search, IT contract recruitment and several years as a journalist, Julia went around the world for more than a year, chasing kangaroos and editing news for a Thai newspaper, and has come back to combine her previous lives into recruiting healthcare communications staff. Outside work, if she’s not in the gym or in the pub, she’s likely to be cooking or have her head in a book.
After leaving University with a degree in Culture, Media and Society, Jonathan moved into the education sector spending time working as an English teacher in South Korea and Spain. Jonathan recruits widely for the events industry. He spends his free time playing and watching sports – hoping that Newcastle United’s fortunes will improve – and travels as much as possible.
Ben is a consultant specialising in business publishing and conferences. Working on behalf of a wide range of businesses internationally, from start-ups to FTSE100. Covering a range of areas including Finance, Legal, Technology, Engineering, Commodities and more.

Before embarking on her recruitment career, Naomi spent 2 years with EMAP at KISS FM working in KISSTORY ‘s marketing function (and whilst she still has a very questionable taste in music and isn’t allowed anywhere near the office playlist, she is an unashamed, self-confessed events and media nerd).
Naomi has worked in both in-house and agency roles at a senior level for multi-site businesses where she’s lead teams to deliver recruitment projects from headhunting board level talent to delivering on high volume national contracts. Now, Naomi is responsible for all of our Events Marketing recruitment, from entry level to board level roles across business and consumer shows.
Naomi can advise you on how to hire well, cost effectively and can deliver results under pressure in a calm, logical and effective way.
Maz began working at Media Contacts after graduating from Edinburgh University with an MA in politics. Her varied background includes a year au pairing in Paris, a spell charity fundraising for a homelessness charity and running a pub crawl in her home city of Edinburgh. She recruits widely across the publishing and events industry. In her spare time you will usually find her cooking, watching films or touring the city’s Wetherspoons.
Graduating with a degree in English Literature from Exeter, Ted now works as a consultant in the media and events industries.
He spends his free time cycling, playing tennis, cooking, and trying to plough through the unread books on his bookshelf.
Marcus has been in recruitment in for 2 years, starting out in the financial services sector. Having switched over to recruiting sales positions for media owners, he works with a variety of events and publishing companies. Outside of recruitment Marcus enjoys playing rugby, boxing and hanging out with his mates in the pub.
Jess, originally from South Africa, moved to London after finishing her degree, looking to travel and experience more of what the world has to offer. After 6 years in the banking industry in London, she spent 2 years in sunny Australia working as a Customer Service manager in renewable energy, before moving back to London. Her passions are table-top gaming and travel.
After moving to London in 2016, Alex worked in the events, digital and retail industries across operations, sales and marketing. He then decided to specialise in events recruitment, using his background knowledge to assist clients/candidates and ensure that they get the best possible outcome from the recruitment process. Alex’s interests include sports and music, and his claim to fame is that he was was Harry Styles’ badminton partner in high school.
Rob has over 3 years’ experience in media recruitment. He has joined Media Contacts as a Senior Consultant harnessing his blend of recruitment and media experience. Outside of work he plays rugby during the winter and relaxes at the pub during the summer!
Bryony graduated The University of Bristol with a BA in English Literature before working as a Facilities Assistant at a law firm for a year. She moved to Media Contacts to recruit for the publishing and events industry. In her spare time she enjoys going to the gym, shopping and watching RuPaul’s Drag Race.
Megan has joined us for her university placement year and has interests in digital marketing and social media. Following her placement year, she will return to Bournemouth University to complete her Marketing BSc degree. Outside of work and study she enjoys socialising with friends.
Jack joined Media Contacts in August 2019 having previously worked as an instructor of outdoor activities and before that serving in the Royal Marines for 4 years. He decided to seek a new challenge in his career, which led to starting his career in recruitment. Outside of work he enjoys playing squash, going to festivals and walking his 2 golden retrievers.
Aishah left University after studying Middle Eastern Studies and Business and Management. She worked within the charity sector whilst at University and has branched out to the world of PR recruitment as she has a special interest in understanding the world of communications.
Aishah can be found reading books in her spare time or exploring one of the many museums in London.
Fran graduated from the University of Greenwich in the Summer after completing her Business Management degree. She enjoyed the creative modules at University the most and recently completed a Graphic Design course. Upon graduation, she realised she wanted something that was both creative and rewarding, so PR recruitment seemed like a no-brainer. In her spare time, you’ll find Fran in an “Insta-worthy” bar, catching up on podcasts or taking her drone for a spin.
