The Night News Editor’s Role:
- Direct, develop and maintain the quality of output of rolling, 24-hour digital news.
- Work closely with the night editor and a team of reporters to identify and deliver breaking news stories.
- Keep an eye on the wires, rival news publications, social media, etc.
- On the management team, involved in management of editorial processes, news gathering, news page editing, etc, etc.
You:
- Have proven ability to stay calm and deliver compelling news stories in a fast-paced, 24-hour news environment – you enjoy the intensity.
- Track record of managing a team of news reporters.
- Lots of experience of 24-hour digital news and production processes in a newspaper setting.
